Some Words
Antojo is a site-specific intervention, produced by the Community of Madrid Museum CA2M for the exhibition Querer parecer noche, which featured the work of a selection of relevant artists from the Madrid scene of the last ten years.
Considering the temporality of this exhibition, the artist also wished to begin the commission by conducting a review of the last ten years in her own work. The result was this sculptural work in the form of a semicircular arch, situated as a passage between two of the exhibition rooms. Made of plaster and sand using different molds for the base sequence, it was completed with a measured variety of reliefs and wooden inlays. The evolution of her references, media, and techniques gave rise to this delirious mixture of forms and genres, balanced in directions as disparate as Spanish Romanesque styles and the Viennese Secessionists, or sculptural work as architectural element or bodily volume, at once sensual, designed, or technological.
