Petit Larousse Illustré is a possible scenography for Industrias y andanzas de Alfanhuí, which is not a theatrical work, but the first novel by Rafael Sánchez Ferlosio. In this imaginary stage set are found, as in any illustrated dictionary, heterogeneous images and concepts shuffled by the alphabet. But in our case the alphabet is also invented and does not allow us to discern even the order of the sequence.
Thus, after defining the liveliness of fire, the dictionary will explain to us the sadness of a window, and before detailing the colors of the moon, we will be able to understand the gaze of an ox, but not just any ox—rather a noble one, of those from old villages.
